During these critical times, authentic and conscious discussions surrounding race, class and gender are of the utmost importance. 2Leaf Press, a Black/Brown female-led nonprofit press located in New York City, which is dedicated to publishing diverse voices, is celebrating its tenth anniversary. My name is Gabrielle David, and as the publisher of 2Leaf Press, I am proud to have published authors who speak to their own lived experiences through poetry, fiction and nonfiction. Since 2Leaf Press relies on sponsors, donations, and community support, I am asking you to donate to our cause and spread the word.
Some of 2Leaf Press’ remarkable achievements in the past ten years include: publishing 52 print books and 34 ebooks, including five books of translations and two classic reprints; having books reviewed by Kirkus, Midwest Review, Choice, ALA, Los Angeles Review of Books, the Boston Globe, the Columbia Review, Poetry International Online, among others; our books have been featured in the films The War with Grandpa (2020) starring Robert De Niro, and My Spy (2020) starring Dave Bautista; the publication of four titles under the 2LP EXPLORATIONS IN DIVERSITY series, which challenges race, culture and sociopolitical issues concerning diversity and inclusivity in America; the six-volume series, TRAILBLAZERS, BLACK WOMEN WHO HELPED MAKE AMERICA GREAT, the first volume named a KIRKUS “Best Indy Book of 2021”; and perhaps our proudest achievement, becoming the first Black/Brown female-led press in the United States distributed by University of Chicago Press. Check out our titles; I think you will be equally impressed. A big part of why 2Leaf Press takes chances that the major publishing houses will not is because we have a community of supporters who underwrite those investments. Even a small gift means an endorsement of our work, providing a steady income stream so we can make editorial decisions to entertain and educate readers in diverse and interesting ways. Need to familiarize yourself with 2Leaf Press? Please download an excerpt of TRAILBLAZERS Volume 1 at https://bit.ly/tb-giveaway so you can get an idea of what we do. Just click on which format you want, and it will automatically download. I believe in the power of 2Leaf Press because reading books to build an inclusive culture is more important than ever and can go a long way in creating a better environment where we can all coexist and thrive. For this reason, I am asking you to join me as an ally and support 2Leaf Press by donating today. |
