The Last Poets Abiodun Oyewole’s forthcoming book, Branches of the Tree of Life
The Collected Poems of Abiodun Oyewole, 1969-2013
and Our Nuyorican Thing, The Birth of a Self-Made Identity by Samuel Diaz Carrion (under the NUYORICAN WORLD SERIES) have been rescheduled to publish March 2014. Both books were set to publish November 2013, but a series of events delayed their release.

“It’s an unfortunate situation all the way around. A combination of illness and the sudden death of Amiri Baraka brought us to a grinding halt,” says Gabrielle David, Publisher of 2Leaf Press. “I am very grateful that Urayoán Noel will be doing the introduction to Sam’s book; and that Sonia Sanchez has graciously consented to do the introduction that Amiri Baraka was to do for Abiodun’s book. At some point, when it seemed almost probable that we could actually get the books out despite the obstacles we were facing, the whole thing really fell apart when Baraka passed away. Given this, coupled with other recent events, we decided it would be best to take a step back and regroup so we can produce the best books possible. I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused readers and we will do our best to make sure the extra months it has taken to get these books out are worth the wait.”
