2Leaf Press is happy to announce that we are now selling print and ebook editions from our website. As part of our ongoing relationship with University of Chicago Press, our books are now available for sale through their shopping cart, and we encourage our readers to purchase our books direct as opposed to Amazon and other online outlets.
We have nothing against Amazon, or for that matter, our online presence on major outlets like Barnes & Noble, Powell’s, Alibris, Books a Million, Abe Books and overseas outlets. Many people are under the belief that if a book is not on Amazon, it is not worthy to purchase. But the reason why we want purchasers to buy books directly from our distributor, is because it cuts out the middle man and puts more money in the press’s and author’s pockets. In other words, when you purchase from third party entities, we have to pay them; when you purchase direct, you eliminate that expense.
Naturally, we want our books available on as many outlets as possible, but from a monetary standpoint, some purchasers have shipping deals on another outlet which works out better for them. But we hope that some of you will make the conscious effort to buy direct. It’s good for us, its good for the authors, and in the end, since the order does not have to go through a third party, in most cases your order is expedited.
Remember, if you need exam copies, you can order them directly from UCP here; and the media can request review copies through UCP here.
Cheers and happy reading!
