[trx_title position=”top”]2Leaf Press Celebrates National Poetry Month[/trx_title]

National Poetry Month, a celebration of poetry which takes place each April, was introduced in 1996 and is organized by the Academy of American Poets as a way to increase awareness and appreciation of poetry in the United States.

Normally, there are events all over the country, from poetry readings to poetry festivals, with gatherings in libraries, bookstores, coffee shops, auditoriums, and even street corners, wherever poetry can be heard. Now, due to the coronavirus pandemic, writers and audiences cannot gather in person, so poets, publishers and poetry organization have come up with some creative ways to celebrate verse virtually. Here’s a great article in The New York Times that can point you in the right direction for virtual poetry events.

Besides featuring 2Leaf Press’ poets, University of Chicago Press is offering 30% off all ebooks, exclusively through their website. Just use the promo code BOOK30, and you will receive automatic delivery.
