Maria Lisella

MARIA LISELLA is the sixth winner in the competition for Queens Poet Laureate 2015-2018, and the first Italian American. She is the author of the collection, Thieves in the Family,(2014), and two chapbooks, Amore on Hope Street and Two Naked Feet, and her work appears in the anthology, The Travelers a Vade Mecum (2016). A charter member of the online poetry circle brevitas, she co-curates the Italian American Writers Association readings, and is a co-founder of the Vito Marcantonio Forum. Lisella is an award-winning travel writer and currently a New York Expert for USA Today.
