LIBERTY FERDA earned an MFA in creative nonfiction from the University of Pittsburgh. She currently writes on race and adoption for The Lost Daughters, and is a regular contributor to magazines and newspapers in the Pittsburgh region. Her essay appeared in the anthology, Other Tongues: Mixed Race Women Speak Out (2010), and contributed a poem to Psalms for Mother Emanuel: an Elegy from Pittsburgh to Charleston (2016), a sponsored work featuring nine Pittsburgh poets commemorating the nine lives lost in the racially-charged shooting at Mother Emanuel church in Charleston, South Carolina in 2015.
