Her dissertation, “We Are the Ones We Have Been Waiting for: Pan-African Consciousness Raising and Organizing in the United States and Venezuela,” examines constructions of race, gender and identity in relation to processes through which African diasporic youth become radicalized with an emphasis on emergent Pan-African sensibilities. She was a Visiting Assistant Professor appointment in the African American Studies Program/Race & Pedagogy Institute at the University of Puget Sound, and is currently Assistant Professor of Cultural Anthropology and Africana Studies at Northeastern University. Brown-Vincent recently accepted a fellowship as a Senior Research Fellowship at the KHK Center for Global Cooperation Research in Duisburg, Germany.
