JEFFREY A. SCOTT writes poetry, short fiction and personal narratives. He earned a MA in history from the University of New Mexico, and a MFA in writing and consciousness from the California Institute of Integral Studies. He taught African American History at universities in California, Massachusetts, Colorado, Oregon and New Mexico. Scott gives readings of his poetry, talks and workshops on African American history. He has published online at Poets Against the War (2002), in the African American Studies journal, Wazo Weusi (1992), and recently completed an historical novel, Conjuring Up Freedom. He currently lives in Silver City, New Mexico.
