FIKISHA LOIS CUMBO, a poet, author, filmmaker, television host and photographer, was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She earned a BA and graduated magna cum laude in biology and chemistry at Texas Southern University. She was a research assistant at the University of Southern California, and was an instructor at Brooklyn College (CUNY) biology department. Her photographs have appeared on the Peter Tosh albums, Equal Rights (1977) and Honorary Citizen (1997); and in the books, The Life of Peter Tosh, Steppin’ Razor (2013) and Bob Marley: King of Reggae (1984). Her published work has appeared in ATTITUDE Dance Magazine, CIRCUS Magazine, The Daily Challenger, and The Afro Times. Cumbo is the host of the cable program, CACE INTERNATIONAL TV, which broadcasts online on YouTube and New York local cable stations.
