Esther Whitman Johnson

ESTHER WHITMAN JOHNSON is a former high school teacher and counselor from Southwest Virginia. She travels the globe volunteering on five continents, often writing about her journeys. Her poetry and prose have appeared in over two dozen publications, including Artemis, Broad River Review, colere, Connecticut River Review, dirty chai, Earth’s Daughters, eno, Lunch Ticket, Longleaf Pine, Main Street Rag, Virginia Writers, and most recently the anthologies, Howl, 2016!: Poems, Rants, and Essays about the Election (2017), and Forgotten Women: A Tribute in Poetry (2017). The recipient of numerous awards, Johnson was nominated for a Pushcart Prize in 2016. She received an MA in English, and MeD in counseling from the University of Virginia.
