DAVID B. AXELROD has published over twenty books of poetry, and his work has appeared in hundreds of magazines and anthologies. He holds an MA from The Johns Hopkins University, an MFA from the University of Iowa Writers’ Workshops; and a PhD in non-profit program design and administration from Union Institute. He is the recipient of the 2014 Florida Book Award Gold Medal; the 2015 Coalition of Visionary Resources Award for non-fiction as co-author and editor of the critical biography, Merlin Stone Remembered: Her Life and Works (2015); and three Fulbright Awards, including his being the first official Fulbright Poet-in-Residence in the People’s Republic of China. Axelrod’s poetry has been translated into and published in fifteen languages, and is a student of nine languages. He serves as a vice president for the Florida division of Writers Unlimited Agency, Inc., a not-for-profit, educational service for writers which he founded in 1976, and as president of the Creative Happiness Institute, Inc. (CHI), a not-for-profit, educational organization that offers literary and cultural programs to the public.
