DANIEL M. JAFFE received an AB from Princeton University, a JD from Harvard Law School, and an MFA from Vermont College. He worked for several years as a corporate/securities attorney before throwing caution to the winds and pursuing a career in creative writing.
He has published several books, including The Genealogy of Understanding (2014), as well as the chapbook, One-Foot Lover (2009), and dozens of short stories and personal essays in various literary journals and anthologies. He compiled and edited With Signs and Wonders: An International Anthology of Jewish Fabulist Fiction (2001). He also translated Dina Rubina’s Russian-Israeli novels, Here Comes the Messiah! (2000); and The White Dove of Córdoba (2010), currently being developed into a feature film. Jaffe won the 2003 John E. Profant Foundation for the Arts Literature Competition, and has been a finalist for numerous literary awards such as the 2014 Rainbow Awards, the 2009 American Fiction Prize, and ForeWord Magazine’s 2002 Book of the Year Awards. https://www.danieljaffe.com.
