Chivvis Moore

CHIVVIS MOORE is the author of First Tie Your Camel, Then Trust in God: An American Feminist in the Arab World (2016), based on sixteen years living in Syria, Egypt and the West Bank. She has worked as a journalist for The Courier-Journal in Louisville, Kentucky, and The Daily Review in Hayward, California. She currently works for Zawaya, a non-profit organization that seeks to contribute to the multicultural discourse of the San Francisco Bay Area with the Arab arts. She received a BA with honors from Harvard University, and an MA in TOEFL from the American University in Cairo. She lives in Oakland, California.
