Carly Bates

CARLY BATES is from Phoenix, Arizona. She received a BA of music from Arizona State University in 2016. “French Vanilla” is from a larger performance piece titled Negotiations, in which Bates and her collaborators, Raji Ganesan and Allyson Yoder, explore identity, heritage, and disbelonging. She currently works with a local playback theatre company called Essential Theater, and is the editor of the Mixed Roots Stories Commons. http://mixedrootsstories.com.
