Bettye Kearse
BETTYE KEARSE is a writer and recently-retired pediatrician living in the Boston area. She earned a BA from the University of California at Berkeley, a PhD from New York University, and an MD from Case Western Reserve University. Her essays have appeared in the Boston Herald, and River Teeth, which was listed for a notable essay in The Best American Essays 2014, and nominated for the 2015 Pushcart Prize. She writes children’s picture books, and as a descendant of President James Madison, she has completed the memoir, The Other Madisons: An American Griotte’s Quest. www.bettyekearse.com.
