Benjamin V. Marshall

BENJAMIN V. MARSHALL is an associate professor of English at Middlesex County College, New Jersey. He received an MFA in creative writing from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, and was awarded fellowships from the National Endowment for the Humanities, New Jersey State Council on the Arts, the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation and the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation. His full-length plays include The Red Train Café at Interact Theatre (Philadelphia), Pride Film and Plays (Chicago), One Legged Race (Playwrights Theatre of New Jersey), Henry’s Bridge  (Theatre for a New City), and Carlos and LaVonne (Chicago), which won second prize in the Theodore Ward Playwriting Contest.  Marshall has had short plays produced by HBO’s New Writers Workshop, WBEZ’s Off the Air program and Australia’s Short and Sweet Festival. His poetry and short fiction have appeared in several literary magazines, notably Art and Understanding, Jonathon and phat’itude Literary Magazine. He is a member of the Dramatists Guild.
