ANNE MAVOR is a visual artist who grew up in Woods Hole, Massachusetts and currently lives in Portland, Oregon. She has a BA in art from Kirkland College, and an MFA in creative writing from Anti-och University, Los Angeles. She also attended the Feminist Studio Workshop at the Woman’s Building in Los Angeles where she developed an interest in using personal and social content in her artwork. Another influence has been Reevaluation Counseling, an international peer counseling organization that emphasizes the elimination of all oppressions. She is the author of Strong Hearts, Inspired Minds: 21 Artists Who Are Mothers Tell Their Stories (1996).
