Vagabond Beaumont, a filmmaker, artist, author and photographer, has been a great asset to our organization, whether he is filming, producing and directing our promotional videos, creating fabulous press photos of our authors or designing a couple of great book covers for 2Leaf Press, notably for Abiodun Oyewole and Dylcia Pagan. But first and foremost, Vagabond is a filmmaker and has been in the business for years — he began his career working for Spike Lee and has since worked for a number of distinguished filmmakers and artists. Vagabond recently released his six-time internationally awarded debut feature film MACHETERO, on Video On Demand on Vimeo. and can be screened on TV, Computer, Tablet or Mobile Phone.

MACHETERO is a film that questions and challenges Puerto Rico’s colonial status in a way that brings post-9/11 definitions, ideas and notions of terrorism into play. Released in 2008, MACHETERO has screened all over the world and won awards in South Africa, Wales, England, Thailand, Ireland and New York. You can find out more information about MACHETERO at www.machetero-movie.com.
