2Leaf Press has created a new series 2LP EXPLORATIONS IN DIVERSITY.  The first volume of the series will be 2Leaf Press forthcoming tile, WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE WHITE IN AMERICA: BREAKING THE WHAT CODE OF SILENCE, A COLLECTION OF PERSONAL NARRATIVES, due for publication in April 2016.

2LP EXPLORATIONS IN DIVERSITY was created when Gabrielle David and Sean Frederick Forbes came to the realization that most books on race have long been dominated by an academic point of view. WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE WHITE IN AMERICA fulfilled an unmet need for an anthology of personal narratives about race and culture from the perspective of white Americans.  In this conception process, 2LP EXPLORATIONS IN DIVERSITY was conceived.

2LP EXPLORATIONS IN DIVERSITY series seeks to showcase personal narratives and literature that engages in honest and meaningful discussions about diversity, identity politics and multiculturalism in American society in the 21st century. As poet Audre Lorde once wrote: “Our silences will not protect us,” and it is in this vein that volumes in this series will examine, question and complicate issues of identity in ways that either have not been addressed or need to be addressed differently. 2LP EXPLORATIONS IN DIVERSITY will include the myriad representational voices and perspectives of American society and culture.

Stay tuned for more announcements in the next few weeks.  In the meantime, for more information or queries, contact 2lp-explore@2leafpress.org.
